You may have woken up this morning, headed out to wherever it is that you go and realized the bus driver was asking you for a little bit extra with that token/ticket. Having not have had to take the bus that often lately, I won’t be affected that much by the new prices but I’m sure many hundreds of thousands across the city will. I simply don’t understand why the TTC has to raise the prices as much as they have recently. The only bright spot along the way is that they didn’t touch the regular cash fare price of $2.75 for adults. However if you’re looking to buy tickets or tokens in bulk you will have to fork out some extra cash. Same goes for the metro pass users (probably the most loyal TTC riders of all). I also want to hear personally from the people they surveyed who said they wouldn’t mind a fare increase as long as the service was kept the same. I say we change the whole system and fund the TTC with Ted Rogers money instead, change the name to the Rogers Transit System and be done with the whole thing.
